Eat:
Healthy food, green living, and sustainability are just some of the things you’ll find if you trek to the Boston Local Food Festival on Sunday, September 14th! Join the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts as they provide a day of fun, locally grown foods and produce, and share helpful hints on making the thought of zero waste a reality. There will be kids activities, entertainment, live demos, and if you take an eco-friendly way to the event, you get in for free!  The fun happens from 11am-5pm.

Drink:
Soak up the last of the summer sun on the patio at MC Spiedo (606 Congress Street) – the Southie Waterfront’s newest addition and enjoy their patio cocktail drink series.  In september sip on Fall flavors like maple bourbon, house-made Husk cherry bitters and apple cider in the following cocktails ($8/glass; $20/pitcher).  How about a 14th Century Barrel Bourbon—Renaissance-style Angel’s Envy bourbon, Capano Antica, Lazzaroni Amaretto, house-made Husk cherry bitters?  We’ll raise our glass to that!

Shop:
Festival of fun. The forecast for Saturday looks perfect to browse and shop amidst 100 local merchants, artists, and organizations along East Broadway from L to I streets.  There will be food, children’s activities and live entertainment including local favorite Thomas Park and the Wood’s School of Irish Dance.  September 13th 11pm-5pm. A carnival is in town this weekend.  Rockwell Amusements is setting up shop at Marine Industrial Park this weekend from September 12th-14th.  Enjoy rides, games, and it to benefit the Lt. Walsh and FF. Kennedy Memorial Fund.

Swing/Dance:
The Lawn on D is where it’s at this season and they’ve got two fun events this weekend.  Swing Time happens on Thursday, September 11th and features huge interactive LED swings that you..well..swing on!  To celebrate there will be a live swing band, a special “Swing Time” Cocktail, that will lower your inhibitions to swing, and of course bocce, Ping-Pong and more.  On Saturday, The Lawn on D will feature a day into sunset dance party and celebration of music with local national and international talent playing music from disco, to house to funk and more.  So dust off those dancing shoes!  For more information about the Lawn on D visit: http://www.lawnond.com/

Mingle:
Come celebrate Italian pride on Friday, September 12th from 6pm-8pm at Medal of Honor Park at M Street Park.  Enjoy live music performed by Street Magic Acapella.  There will be kids activities and the Mayor Marty Walsh and the City of Boston will be honoring some special someone from Southie too – to be announced later!  Even if you’re not Italian, you can still celebrate Italian Pride Night!
