Celebrate:
Still looking for a spot to ring in 2018 in Southie? New Year’s Eve is the biggest party night of the year. But why not skip the frenzy downtown, the struggle for a cab and the fight for a drink and stay local? Here are some of our favorite picks for a very Southie New Year’s Eve.
Brunch:
Kick start the New Year and head over to Capo for brunch beginning at 11 a.m. to indulge in the first meal of 2018. To the tune of a live DJ, guests can enjoy breakfast favorites like Tiramisu French Toast (chocolate chip pancakes, mascarpone cream, espresso maple syrup) and Poached Eggs Mezze (hummus, quinoa tzatziki, tomato salad & flatbread), or lunch items including the Capo Delux Panini (coppa, mortadella, soppressata, tomato & hot peppers), Corn and Bacon Pizza (mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil), or Linguini and Spicy Lobster (cherry tomatoes, pepperoncini & black olives). Whether you’re kicking your New Year’s Eve hangover or just getting the party started, New Year’s brunch at Capo is the perfect spot to start 2018. Reservations are recommended!
Shop:
Still need a little sparkle and shine for your NYE party? No need to leave the neighborhood when it comes to shopping for an outfit! Ku de Ta, Pretty Reckless and Covet have plenty of looks for you to choose from including sequins dresses, sexy tops and denim, and plenty of accessories to add to your lewk!
Laugh:
End 2017 with a good laugh! Comedy Night in Southie will be at Sixth Gear on New Year’s Eve with a free show featuring Zachary Brazao. Show starts at 8pm!

Plunge:
Take the plunge! We hear the best way to cure a hangover is to dive into the freezing cold ocean for a swim! While there is no scientific research to back that up, it’s a great way to help out the Scleroderma Foundation! What better way to start off 2018 then by doing something for a great cause! Meet Kevin Conroy and friends in front of L Street Tavern at 8am on Monday, January 1st and then be escorted down L Street by 103rd Postal Fire Column Pipes and Drums for the plunge at 9am. At the L Street Bathhouse, strip down and take an ice-cold plunge! Warm up back at L Street Tavern for raffles, prizes and a really good time! Even if you are too chicken to jump into the freezing cold ocean, come by to support the participants brave enough to take the plunge and to support the Scleroderma Foundation! Freezin’ For A Reason! You can make a donation either by check or by visiting here! Â
