We jammin’! Unwind into the weekend with Conscious Reggae this weekend.   Lucky’s Lounge (355 Congress Street) is hosting a Reggae night every Thursday night and Shenanigan’s (332 West Broadway) hosts theirs every Friday!  Order up a Red Stripe and sway with the music.

Dance:
Come dance the night away and relive the good old days of Southie’s years past.  Remember Street Lights, The Channel, the Mad Hatter – well this is the perfect event for you!  Even if you don’t remember those places, this night will be filled with fun and lots of dancing and it’s for a great cause – Southie Special Kids!  This event takes place on Saturday, March 5th at 7pm at Carson Place (Teachers’ Union Hall).  Featuring local DJ’s –  Dru Errico, Kaitlin Linehan, Bert Wilkinson! Tickets are $20.

Bowl:
The South Boston Citizens’ Association is hosting a 21+ Bowl-A-Rama at South Boston Bowl. On Sunday, March 6th, join your neighbors and friends for an afternoon of free bowling, raffles, music and lots of fun. This event begins at 1pm and is proudly sponsored by South Boston Bowl.

Support:
Support Our Troops Care Package Drop-Off at The Beauty Bar! The Castle Island Association and The Beauty Bar are teaming up to help the troops with a care package drive! Drop off items like bar soap, roll-on deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, candy, books, magazines and more. For a full list their Facebook page . They will be collecting items until March 18th – if you drop something off you’ll get a mystery prize! Sweet!

Help:
Gate of Heaven and St. Brigid Parishes are looking for some helping hands on Saturday, March 5th in completing a feeding project to aid those in Burkina Faso in Africa. The Parishes’ goal is to raise $5,000 to purchase food materials for 10,000 meals to then physically pack and ship to Africa. This project was hugely successful last year and is coordinated by Catholic Relief Services. If you would like to volunteer stop by the South Boston Catholic Academy gym (O Street side) either between 9:30am-10:30am ad 10:30am-11:30am. There will be two shifts to aid in the packing of food. Hundreds of costumed beach lovers will plunge into the icy waters of Boston Harbor at this year’s Harpoon Shamrock Splash for Save the Harbor/Save the Bay at the BCYF Curley Community Center in South Boston on Sunday, March 6th at noon.  Show your love by taking the icy plunge and warm up after with some Harpoon beer! Participants, who compete for great prizes including JetBlue flights for best costume and biggest fundraiser, have already raised more than $20,000 to support free “Better Beaches” events and programs from Nahant to Nantasket.
