Eat:
Brunch anyone? Enjoy such deliciousness as chicken and waffle bites, lobster roll, or an old school breakfast sandwich on Gather’s patio. Order up a mimosa and enjoy the sunshine this weekend! Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm.
Drink:
Revisit your college years and have a few Jell-O shots! Moonshine 152 has a grown up version with new flavors weekly! This weeks flavor is the sexy Sex on the Beach with peach liquer, fresh pomegranate, and orange-peach jello!

See:
Check out Fort Independence at Castle Island! The Castle Island Association (CIA) has been giving free guided tours of Fort Independence on Castle Island for over thirty years. Enjoy a tour every Saturday, Sunday, and on national holidays through the summer from noon till 3:30pm. You can also enjoy a sunset tour on Thursday at 6pm.
Do:
Head to the river! This Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm the Department of Conservation and Recreation is once again hosting the “Neponset Riverfest” at the DCR Neponset Park in Dorchester. New parks and bike paths line the shores of the Neponset River, along with beautiful natural salt marshes and wetlands that support more than 200 species of birds, fish and other wildlife, all right in the city. And there will be A TON to do! Try out a kayak or canoe on the Neponset River, courtesy of Paddle Boston, explore a tidepool with the New England Aquarium, have a WILD time with Zoo New England or attend a fishing clinic with the Mass Division of Fisheries & Wildlife. There will be food trucks, live music and arts and crafts as well as the spray park for the kids to cool off. Bring the bikes and go for a cruise along the protected paths of the riverway. Dance:
Head to the Lawn on D for some dancing! From 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm enjoy the band Endless Summer from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm: DJ Brian Delac. Enjoy food, drinks, games, and don’t forget the light up swings!
Workout:
Grab your mat, lace up your sneakers and hit the great outdoors and get moving! Here’s the scoop on where you can find outdoor yoga and workouts in South Boston.

Let’s hear it for 10 year old Ronan Manning who has organized a school supply drive to help those in need! See his letter below! Every year too many kids go to school without the materials necessary to succeed. Ronan has organized a school supply drive to help other kids in our community to have what they need for class this fall. Please help by donating new back packs, pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, folders, and other school supplies. They will be collecting supplies Sunday, July 23rd from 10 am – 1 pm at 206 L street and again on Wednesday July 26th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at the South Boston Pop Warner field at Marine Park, 1880 Day Boulevard. If you’d like to skip the store and leave the shopping to us, you can donate here!
Register:
On your mark, get set, go! Compete in a triathlon right in your own back yard, Southie!On Sunday, July 30th at 8:15 a.m. hundreds of triathletes will take to Boston Harbor and William Day Boulevard to compete in The Boston Triathlon. The swim takes place at Carson Beach and the bike and run are up and down William Day Boulevard and the Sugar Bowl path and ends back at Mother’s Rest at Carson Beach. It’s a 1/2 mile swim, 9 mile bike and a four mile run! Piece of cake! There’s also a post party that includes food, beer garden, games, vendors, music and more all on Carson Beach. There is an Olympic Race course too for you beasts! For those course details you can visit their website!
