On your mark, get set, go! Lace up your running sneakers and register for the Jim Kane Sugar Bowl 5K. This road race is a local favorite for not only its flat course along the water but for the party after the race too. The L Street Running Club, who organizes this race, announced a new team category this year, as well as a vendor expo, awards and raffles, baggage check, free parking and a big BBQ post race. The race takes place on Thursday, July 16th at 7:00 pm and begins at Carson Place. Registration is $30. Mast sand sculptors Marielle Heessels from the Netherlands and Leonardo Ugilini from Italy will be creating a 15-ton Sand Castle on Carson Beach. as part of Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s Better Beaches Program before competing in the Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival. The Lawn on D play experts have collected some innovative play sculptures, games and interactive activities to help you let loose!
