Eat:
Hot diggety dog! A welcomed sign of spring happens this weekend – Sullivan’s will be open for business! The legendary hot dog stand opens its doors on Thursday, February 23rd. Enjoy half priced hot dogs ($95 cents plus tax) and help celebrate Sully’s 66th season!

Drink:
Thirsty? Head to Stephi’s in Southie!  Every day of the week beginning at 5pm, you can enjoy fun specials like Tiki Night Fridays with Chinese inspired appetizers and scorpion bowls. On Saturdays enjoy Meatball Madness and beers by the bucket!  Get your wings on Sunday Night with 50 cent wings and bud light pitchers!

Workout:
With all the eating and drinking, you’ll need a good workout.  It’s all about balance right?  Head to Simply Barre for a class or two!  A combination of Pilates, yoga, ballet, and fitness conditioning, you will find a variety of exercises in your workout. Avoiding “repetition of movement” and keeping things interesting, Simply Barre looks to make exercise spontaneous and fun. Register:
Start of parade day with a 5K.  The St. Patrick’s Day Rad Road Race is a festive and healthy 5K Road Race starts and ends at Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club, corner of F and West Sixth Street on Sunday, March 19th at 11am.  All proceeds benefit South Boston Boys & Girls Club.  First 650 to register receive Official Race Shirt, designed by Dropkick Murphys!  Limited number of limited editions shirts on sale race weekend wicked cheap ($10!)  You can register here! 

Shop:
Take a shopping excursion this weekend and shop local.  From boutiques to home decor, South Boston has it all!  Here is a list of locations in Southie where shoppers can find merchandise to satisfy all recreational retail shopping needs.  Shop local! It’s good for the neighborhood!

Run:

Take advantage of this warm weather and got for a run!  There’s no better place for running than Southie!  Check out these routes! 

Watch:

Kickoff:
It’s the Annual Jimmy Flaherty Kick-Off Breakfast!  Kick off the St. Patrick’s Day season at this local favorite hosted by the South Boston Citizens Association at the Seapoint Restaurant on Saturday, February 25th at 10am.  There will be food, live entertainment and the presentation of the Henry Knox Award!  $10 donation suggested!

    Is there anyway, that the stemless South Boston Wine Glasses could be sold again for St. Pats Day or at some time in the future I did not see the e-mail for the first selling until they were all sold. I never got an e-mail about the second selling.

    I was brought up in Southie and lived there till my marriage. (To a Southie boy). MymMother when she was alive would never live any other place. She and my Father were both born there of Irish parents. I will always have a soft spot for Southie. My Grandaughter lived there until last year. And my Grandson Joseph still lives in Zsouthie. My favorite holiday was March 17th. I graduated from Nazareth (St Bridget’s) is not
