Weekend Picks – February 10th

Eat:
Looks like a snowy weekend and another snow day on Friday!  Start the weekend early at Lincoln with their Brunch Test Kitchen – we highly recommend their Boozy Milk Shakes!  It was National Bagel Day on Thursday – keep the celebration going with a trip to our favorite bagel shop – Boston Bagel Company and order up an egg sandwich or a dozen of bagels!

Drink:
A snowy weekend means wintery cocktails, beer and wine, right?  Social Wines is open and can help you make some nice selections.  Need to stock up? Al’s Liquors is open and will deliver right to your door!  Woohoo!

555 Gallery is hosting a special event – Pairings – the intersection of art and design featuring fine art photography, furniture and accessories by South Boston’s Camden Hydes and Ouimillie in Beacon Hill.  This event takes place on Saturday, February 11th from 5pm-8pm.  There will be cocktails, bites and a lively conversation.  To learn more, visit here!

Do:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  It’s Girl Scout Cookie time!  Support the SBCA Brownie/Girl Scout Troop!  They’ll be peddling their cookies – cash and carry – this weekend in Southie! Saturday, February 11th in front of East Boston Savings Bank on East Broadway from 1pm-3pm.  Pick us up some Thin Mints!

Play:
Take the kids or revisit your childhood with a trip to The Pit on Farragut Road near the Murphy Rink.  Grab a sled and hit the hill at this old school favorite sledding spot of South Boston.  Build a snowman or have a snowball fight at Marine Park right next door.   Warm up with some delicious hot chocolate at the Java House.  We won’t judge if you pour a nip of Bailey’s in it!

Shop:

Support the South Boston Public Library this weekend at their “Friends of the Library” book and bake sale on Saturday, February 11th  from 10 AM to 3PM.  Hard covered books, paperbacks, DVD’s, plus delicious baked goods!   Free coffee for all customers!
