Kick off the holiday season with a host of activities as well promotions from local businesses. Have fun and, sip, shop and dine local all in one night! Enjoy a special tree lighting on East Broadway in front of the library, a visit from Santa and some old fashioned carolers! In addition, enjoy puppet shows at Bringing Up Baby, gingerbread cookie decorating at Cranberry Cafe, complimentary pedicabs to get you to your shopping destinations.  For a full list of participants visit here!  Keep your eye out for the BIG RED BOW for participating store! ***Caught in Southie will be hosting a special Pop-Up Shop at The Beauty Bar featuring our exclusive “Southie” stemless wine glasses!  We also have a curated selection of beautiful vintage rhinestone brooches and beaded clutches and handbags! See:
Nothing gets in the spirit like a good old fashioned tree lighting!  Join Mayor Marty Walsh and his band of merry makers at the West Broadway Municipal Lot at 12pm on Sunday, December 4th.  This event will also feature legendary Southie DJ Dru Errico will be spinning tunes, balloon animals, refreshments from Loco, Capo and Lincoln, and PONIES!!  Stop by and get in the spirit!

Watch:
Speaking of West Broadway, since you’ll be in the area after the tree lighting, head to Lincoln, Loco or Capo to catch the Pats game.  The Patriots face the Rams at 1pm on Sunday.  Not in the area?  Here’s are some other suggestion of places to watch the game!

Do:
It’s the 26th annual Laboure Christmas House Tour of South Boston this weekend. Hosted by Catholic Charities, this important fundraiser features homes in South Boston decorated for Christmas by local designers.  Five homes are selected and decorated by a team of Boston professional design firms and opened to the public by the generous homeowners to raise money for the social services provided by Catholic Charities Laboure Center.  Enjoy a twighlight tour on Saturday evening or on Sunday beginning at 12pm.  For tickets visit here! 

Run:
On your mark, get set, go!  Put on your Santa hat, lace up those sneakers and get ready to run for a great local school – South Boston Catholic Academy.  On Saturday, December 4th at 10am join your friends and neighbors and run a 5K race along the South Boston beaches.  Start and finish is at South Boston Catholic Academy at 866 East Broadway.  Stick around for a post-race party with prizes, raffles, food and fun! There is also fun for the kids on deck too with two youth races.  At 9:15 – 100 Meter Dash for kids (9 and under) and at 9:30 a 1/2 mile run (14 and under). If you preregister by November 30th, it’s $20.  Post-registration is $25.  Youth preregistration is is $8 and post-registration is $10.  To register visit here! 

Drink:
Post SBCA Road Race head to the Playwright for a free complimentary beer.  Just show your road race bib and voile – free beer!

Bend & Sip:
There’s no better place to get into the Holiday Spirit (no pun intended) than at Southie’s own GrandTen Distilling!  Pop Up Asana is hosting an hour long all levels yoga class at Grand Ten!  This event features yoga, your choice of one seasonal cocktail made from scratch with GrandTen’s delicious liquors, a distillery tour, and plenty of time for socializing. Please bring your own yoga mat as they will not be provided. You must be 21+ to attend this event.  Cost is $35. Pre-registration required via Eventbrite. This event is non-refundable.

Decorate:
Deck the halls! Stop by and pick out a beauty at Brooksie’s Christmas tree pop up shop at 680 Dorchester Ave. near Andrew Square.  Whether you need an 8ft or a 4ft, they’ve got a wide variety.  Need a wreath for your front door?  They’ve got those too. Open daily from 10am-9pm and offering free local delivery. Perfect for you late-night tree shoppers.  How about some ornaments and decorations?  The Laboure (275 West Broadway) is hosting a special Christmas Shoppe this weekend.  This boutique will feature amazing holiday decorating ideas as well as holiday gift items and it’s guilt-free shopping.  Not only will you be getting yourself ready for the holidays, you’ll also be supporting an important South Boston organization!  So it’s good karma!  Stop by December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from 10am-5pm.
