Weekend Picks – April 7th

Eat:
Oak+Rowan debuts brunch this weekend!  Brunch service begins Sunday, April 9th and includes such deliciousness as carrot cake torte, citrus “french toast,” waffle + chicken fried oysters, and a breakfast sandwich made with baked egg, american cheese, english muffin served with hash browns.  Oak + Rowan also has an great selections of champagnes by the glass which is great news for mimosa lovers!  Read our review of Oak + Rowan here!

Drink:
With warm weather in the forecast this weekend, it’s perfect temperature for drinking rose!  Stop by Social Wines and pick up a bottle or two from their amazing selection of rose!  We recommend Pink Chick!  Social Wines will also be hosting an Easter Dinner Wine Tasting on Friday from 5:30pm-8pm.

Shop:
Spring weather means shopping for some new spring fashion!  Southie has some of the best shopping around!  We say make a day of it!  Go on a little shopping expedition in Southie!  It’s good for your closet and it helps support small local business which is good for everyone!  Here’s a quick guide! 

Bowl:
Lace up those shoes and bowl for a cause!  Southie resident Caren Donovan is running the Boston Marathon to raise money for the Lori Miller Memorial Fund to help SBCA!  The fun happens on Sunday, April 9th from 1pm-4pm and Southie Bowl-A-Rama!  $26 for adults, $10 for kids.  There will be raffles, prizes and of course, lots of bowling!

Play:
The Mini Masters Golf Tourney will take place at Coppersmith on the patio all weekend!  Play mini golf, drink infused vodka Arnold Palmer cocktails.  The Masters will be on all day on their 160in projector screens!  Stop by!

Workout:

Watch:
The Bruins face the Senators on Thursday at 7pm and then it’s a matinee on Saturday at 3pm vs. the Capitals.  The Celtics play the Hawks on Thursday at 8pm and Saturday it’s the Hornets at 6pm.  Wondering where to watch?  Here are our suggestions! 

See:
Southie is basically like Broadway this weekend with musicals galore!  On Thursday and Friday – Excel High School will be featuring Little Shop of Horrors on Thursday, April 6th and Friday April 7th 6:30pm-8:00pm.  The Fourth Presbyterian Church Children’s Theater presents Godspell on Friday and Saturday at 7pm and then on Sunday morning it’s Jesus Christ Super Star featuring the adult performers at 10:30am.
