Eat:
Who doesn’t love drinks and appetizers?  It’s a great excuse to meet up with old friends, begin your night out or get to know someone new.  Amrheins’ (80 West Broadway) patio is open for the season.  Share some small plates like the crispy calamari or the buffalo chicken dip.  One of the expert bartenders at Amreheins can mix you up a specialty cocktail to quench your thirst.

Drink:
Stop by Williams Tavern on Saturday, April 25th at 7pm and support some local ladies fundraising for the Pan Mass Challenge to benefit Dana Farber.  There will be snacks, drinks, amazing raffles with donated prizes from some of Southie’s best businesses including Peter Welch’s Gym, Lincoln, Habit, the Urban Art Bar and more! $20 is the suggested donation!  The PMC is a 2-day 192-mile bike ride in August!

Shop:
Now that the nice weather is finally here, it’s so important to support our local businesses after a historic snowfall!  South Boston boutiques have their doors wide open for you to come and shop. Bowl:
Lace up your bowling shoes and help support Respond – working to end domestic violence.  On Sunday, April 26th from 1pm-4pm enjoy an afternoon of bowling at South Boston Bowlarama – 543 East Broadway!   Tickets are $25 online, $30 at the door and $15 for kids 10 and under.  For more information visit: store.respondinc.org/events

Taste:
Social Wines (52 West Broadway) is holding a special wine tasting on Saturday, April 25th from 2pm-4:30pm.  April Collum from Casa Abril wines will be sampling some Spanish wines like Casa Abril Coupage, Castilla La Mancha, ESP and Alma De Vino Old Vine Tempranillo, Ribera Del Duero, ESP. 

Ride:
Whether you’re a hardcore bike rider or just a casual cruiser, Southie Cycles – a new riding club –  might just be for you!   Started by Southie residents and bike enthusiasts Steve and Laura Bowden,  Southie Cycles is a free riding club for bicycle riders of all levels. The idea is to ride with the group or lead a ride yourself.  All rides originate at MyBike at 391 W. Broadway. Laugh:
Laugh it up at the Women in Comedy Festival! Make a plan to have some fun this week at the Seventh Annual Women in Comedy Festival featuring such comedic talents as Dot girl Sue Costello, Mary Mack, Aparna Nancherla, Glee’s Jane Lynch and the legendary Lily Tomlin.  Venues include Southie’s own Laugh Boston, the Wilbur Theater, Improv Boston and even cozier spots like local restaurants.  To get the scoop visit: http://www.womenincomedyfestival.com

Workout:
Register for East Side Yoga and Fitness Bootcamp!  The bootcamp will run on Monday and Thursday’s from 5:45am – 6:45am beginning May 4th! Most classes will take place on Moakley field and cost per class is $10 for monthly members and $18 for drop-ins. To sign up for a classes go to east-sideyogaandfitness.com or sign up through Mindbody. Classes will be taught by Laura Greichen who is an ACE certified fitness trainer and ran her own bootcamp in southie last year. Whether the class includes bleachers, hills, intervals or circuits, East Side Yoga & Fitness promises that no two classes will be the same, but every single one will challenge you. Get up and get it done!

Pitch-in:
Beautify Southie’s parks and beaches!  Meet up with your neighbors and help clean are parks and beaches on Saturday, April 25th from 10am to 1pm at Farragut Park! Volunteers will work on the park, baseball field and softball field to help prepare Farragut for the summer season.  There will be a BBQ after and all are welcome.  South Boston’s Park Serve Day has been organized by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in conjunction with Rep. Nick Collins and McCourt Construction.

Support:
The firefighters at Engine 2/Ladder 19 – K Street firehouse will be selling pink t-shirts and hoodies to raise money for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  Stop by on Saturday and Sunday and show your support by picking up a few!
