Think outside the box when it comes to a Friday night date. Head to the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf and enjoy a classic crowd-pleaser at their outdoor theater. Each summer the harborside terrace is transformed into an outdoor cinema under the stars from June through August. ??The movie begins at sunset and are free and open to the public. We recommend getting their a little early to find a spot. The month of August Movies by Moonlight revisits the year 1987 – great year for films!?

Enjoy a night of culture and fun brought to you by Medicine Wheel Productions. Each Friday night through August 31st, Medicine Wheel will host a special night of entertainment for community members of all ages. Throw on your flip flops and head to Carson Beach for a night of summertime fun. The South Boston Community Health Center will be hosting a 40th Birthday Beach Barbecue on Thursday, August 2nd at 6 PM at the McCormack Bathhouse Pavilion right on Carson Beach. Tickets to win the $10,000 are $100 and only 300 will be sold. Each ticket admits two people to the event.? ?Expect great BBQ, an open bar with beer and wine, music and dancing, raffles galore in support of South Boston Community Health Center’s food pantry and one lucky duck will win $10,000. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services of the South Boston Community Health Center where health care is provided to nearly half of South Boston’s population. Watch:
Watch the Prince of Pop moon walk once again at Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. Enjoy such classics as Thriller, Billie Jean and Beat It as acrobats moonwalk, heel spin and contort on stage with Michael Jackson and his music as the backdrop. This extravaganza takes place at the TD Garden on August 3rd and 4th. Tickets are $50-$175 (www.ticketmaster.com).
Safety:
Check your seat. Your cars eat that is. Target (at South Bay) is hosting a complimentary car seat check. If you’re wondering if your little tike is strapped in safely, stop by August 3rd from 10am-1pm.
Drink:
Wolfie’s is back and better than ever. Stop by this weekend sit in the coveted window seats and do some of the best people watching in Southie. Enjoy a glass of sangria while you enjoy the view . It’s fruity and refreshing and $8 a glass. (The sangria not the view!)
Eat:
If you like guacamole then you’ll love Papagayo (283 Summer Street) with over . Head to this summer hot spot and indulge in some of the best guacamole around – they make is fresh right at your table.
Mix and mingle at one of the best Mexican and Tequila bars around. We highly recommend the tequila snowcones. They are muy bien!
Sun:
Hit the beach. If you haven’t been to Southie’s hottest hot spot this summer, what are your waiting for? Grab a chair, pack a cooler, and head to M Street Beach. Be prepared for scantily clad sexy Southie residents enjoying fun in the sun. A great way to meet some new friends. Don’t forget the sunblock.
