Weekend Picks

Eat:  After much anticipation, Moko (corner of K and East Broadway) has opened it’s doors. The newest eatery to the Southie dining scene is the sister restaurant to Samurai Boston on Boylston Street and will offer sushi as well as Japanese and Korean food.  They will be open 7 days a week, 11am-12am during the week and 10am-12am on the weekends.  So stop by and give them a warm Southie welcome!

Consign:  Hey ladies – time to clean out your closets. Closet Connection (553 East Broadway)- a new consignment boutique – is in search of your spring castaways. So do a little purging this weekend and make an appointment. Not only will you be freeing up much needed space, but you’ll be making a little bit of cash too.  The Closet Connection offers all consignors a 40/60 split.  For more information: https://caughtinsouthie.com/shop/closet-connection

Learn:  Kick your heels up Sunday, February 19th and learn how to Irish step dance.  The South Boston Irish American Society is hosting an Irish step tutorial with lessons by the legendary Peggy Woods at the Seapoint Restaurant (367 East Eighth Street).  The cost is $10 (that includes membership for new people).  There will be a cash bar and bring your own snack to share.  Lessons are from 2pm-5pm.  It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon.  Just think of how impressed you friends will be on St. Patrick’s Day.

Seaworthy:  The New England Boat show is in town at the Convention Center. Spend the day looking at boats, yachts, schooners, and nautical displays galore. If your wealthy enough to purchase one, good for you. If your like the rest of us, you can spend the day dreaming of the one you’ll buy when you hit Mega-millions. The show runs through February 19th. For more information: http://www.newenglandboatshow.com/
