The Current Transforms into Camp Current for Summer 2025

Boston, MA – April 22, 2025 – The Current returns to Boston Seaport, transforming into Camp Current for the Summer 2025 season. Open from May 1 through August 31, Camp Current and its nine curated brands invite guests to shop, savor and rediscover the joy of carefree summer days.
This season’s edition reimagines the spirit of classic summer camp with a modern twist, creating a vibrant retail destination filled with discovery, nostalgia, and style. The shops have been redesigned with a fresh take on the traditional summer cabin—painted in a rich, earthy green and accented with custom-designed merit badges–adding a playful, contemporary nod to the unique experience awaiting inside each space. Camp Current is perfect for shoppers seeking both a trip down memory lane and a step into the future.
Camp Current’s lineup hosts a mix of new and returning businesses, showcasing a handpicked selection of local, woman-owned, and nationally recognized brands, including luxury eyewear, locally made jewelry, skincare, gourmet snacks, stationery, and more. The lineup features:
- Coastal Caviar – The Boston-based, woman-owned jewelry and lifestyle brand believes charms are what separate jewelry and jewelry with meaning. Founded in January 2024, Coastal Caviar quickly became the leading premium charm necklace brand, thanks to virality on TikTok (Hi, Alix Earle!). What makes Coastal Caviar special? Customization. With over 250 charms to choose from, Coastal Caviar allows shoppers to make each piece their own. Whether it be a traditional charm necklace or a bag charm, the design is completely in their hands. To celebrate Coastal Caviar’s first brick-and-mortar, shoppers will find a Boston necklace, exclusive to The Current pop-up, which will feature symbols of the city, its iconic landmarks and more.
- illesteva – illesteva, which made its Boston debut on Newbury Street, will make a celebrated return to the city with its unique collection of luxury eyewear at The Current. Founded in 2010, this national brand emerged as a response to the limited options for designer eyewear that balanced premium craftsmanship with modern design at an accessible price. Designed in New York’s SoHo neighborhood and handcrafted in small, family-owned factories in Italy and France, every pair of illesteva glasses goes through a meticulous 90-day, 50-step production process using only the highest-quality materials. The brand’s designs draw inspiration from the energy of downtown New York and other global influences, resulting in styles that are both fashion-forward and wearable. Over the years, illesteva has collaborated with cultural icons like Lou Reed and Rashida Jones, solidifying its reputation as a brand that values artistry, innovation, and attention to detail.
- Facecard Skincare – Founded by Dr. Ciara Dimou of VAIN Medi Spa in Andover, MA, Facecard Skincare recognizes that confidence should never decline with age. With a deep commitment to fostering a skincare experience that’s welcoming to all, Facecard set out to create products that are approachable, effective, and made for everyone. Their easy-to-use products celebrate skin at every age, enhancing natural beauty while encouraging a daily moment of self-care. At The Current, Facecard will offer in-store skin consultations to help curate the best products. While camping out in Seaport this season, they will offer customized cosmetic bags featuring playful pins and patches, as well as a complimentary SPF station outside their pop-up all summer long. In celebration of Pride month, Facecard will host a special event on June 14 in collaboration with VAIN4LOVE, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the LBGTQ community through a youth scholarship program. Stay tuned for more details on the event.
- Nantucket Crisps – Nantucket Crisps captures the essence of the island experience with its distinctive assortment of potato chip flavors. Every variety nods to bold New England flavors and is unapologetically addicting. Shoppers at The Current will find fan favorites like Brant Point Black Pepper, Cisco Beach BBQ, Sconset Sea Salt, and Hummock Hot Honey. Nantucket Crisps is best enjoyed with drinks from Cisco Brewers, another island favorite, which is conveniently located next to The Current. Nantucket Crisps partners with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation and will host their annual Whale Jam at MGM Music Hall on June 2 and June 3, raising awareness and funds for endangered marine life.
- Megababe – From Cabana to Camp, Megababe makes its exciting return to The Current for its second summer season. The pop-up is a must visit with its innovative personal care products and summer essentials. Megababe offers solution-oriented products to empower people to feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. All Megababe products address various body discomfort issues many people face that have been ignored by the beauty industry or deemed “taboo”, such as boob sweat, thigh chafe, butt acne, hemorrhoids, and more. During its second season at The Current, the nationally recognized brand will feature its bestselling body products and new arrivals. It will also host various events including product swaps and bingo nights. Founder Katie Sturino’s second book Sunny Side Up also launches this summer, and will be available for purchase at the pop-up.
“We loved our space at The Current last summer, and a pop-up is the perfect opportunity to reach more people—especially those who know the brand but haven’t tried it yet. While our best-sellers get a lot of love, we have an entire lineup of products we want customers to experience, including some exciting new launches coming this summer!” – Kate Sturino, Founder of Megababe.
- Gus & Ruby – Founded by best friends, Whitney Swaffield and Samantha Finigan, in 2009, Gus & Ruby is a local design and print studio offering a carefully curated selection of artisan stationery and fine gifts for the home and office. At The Current, shoppers will always find the perfect card, gift, and treat to celebrate every moment, from the small joy found in a sunny afternoon to all of life’s major milestones. Various in store activations will take place throughout the season, including a letterpress printing demonstration, a floral bar, wedding ring showcase, and more!
- Joy Street – Returning for its second season at The Current, Joy Street is a Boston-based baby, kids, and women’s pajama and apparel brand featuring hand drawn prints by founder & artist Eliza Ferrel. All prints are inspired by New England and Eliza’s travels to places like Nantucket and Jackson Hole, with several new themes launching this season such as boats, sharks, and lobster bake. Joy Street products are 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton, made in small batch women-run factories using non-toxic and hypoallergenic materials. In addition to pajamas and apparel, Joy Street at The Current will offer children’s books, toys, and unique items that make any gift special and complete. It will also feature new apparel items for kids and babies, including swimsuits and sweatshirts, as well as cosmetic and diaper pouches.
“I have to say I was so nervous about opening our pop-up store in Boston Seaport this past Fall, but it totally reinvigorated me as a brand founder. Getting to spend time in the shop with the customers and the product reminded me why I started the brand in the first place – to create joy for our customer. We can’t wait to be back in the shop so soon.” – Founder, Eliza Ferrel.
- The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops – Founded in St. Augustine, The Hyppo is an artisan ice pop brand known for its fresh seasonal flavors and limited edition offerings. The Hippo focuses on the vibrancy of actual fresh fruit ice-forged into amazing, magical pop experiences. With flavors like Pineapple Hatch Chili, Strawberry Lemonade, and Avocado Coconut, these pops are the perfect way to cool down while shopping around The Current this summer.
- 1987 – Returning for its third season at The Current, this female-founded, Boston-based luxury clothing brand specializes in exclusive, limited-edition loungewear. 1987’s collections are released in carefully curated drops, featuring styles and colorways that are never restocked. When they’re gone, they’re gone—replaced only by fresh hues that redefine luxury. The Current shoppers will be invited to social events and customization opportunities throughout the summer.
“The magic of summer camp is about more than just the activities, it’s about the sense of belonging, discovery, and connection that comes with it. Camp Current captures that spirit, bringing together a dynamic mix of local and national brands in a setting that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It’s a place where the community can come together to explore, shop, and create lasting summer memories,” said Cailey Hudson, Director of Retail Experience & Incubation at WS Development.
