The time is finally here, my friends—the last few official days of summer. While the approach of Labor Day Weekend is bittersweet for us all, we look forward to ending summer with a bang and transitioning into Fall and everything that comes with it—Patriots games, pumpkin everything, Fall fashion, and an overall fresh new season! Here are a few things we’ll be doing this weekend to celebrate the holiday.

Celebrate
Battle of the Barges! Who doesn’t love a good fireworks display? This Saturday, September 5th, starting at 9pm, there will be the first fireworks display in celebration of Labor Day since 2001. Barges anchored off the North End and Seaport districts will set off a magnificent display accompanied to music. Get to the South Boston Waterfront (we suggest Fan Pier if you want a really great view) early and settle in for a magical evening. The display will be televised on NECN as well as aired on MAGIC 106.7 starting at 8:30pm for those of you who are unable to attend.

Eat
Set sail! This Monday, September 9 beginning at 11am, the schooner Adirondack III will set off on a lovely mid-day cruise around the Boston Harbor Islands. What’s better than soaking up the summer sun and enjoying the ocean breeze in your hair? Being served a delicious picnic lunch while aboard, of course! Snack on an array of assorted sandwiches, fruits, and desserts while taking in the rich history and beautiful scenery of the Boston Harbor Islands. Catch a glimpse of the mysterious sunken island, Nixes Mate, cruise by America’s oldest lighthouse, Boston Light, and take in the full expanse of Fort Warren.  The photo opportunities are endless and the merriment will be flowing on this special Labor Day cruise. Sign up  here today!

Drink
Crack open a cold one! Kick off the long weekend at the Mass Brewers Fest, held at the World Trade Center Head House Concourse on Friday, September 4th from 6-9:30pm. This 6th annual festival features over 100 beers from 30 different breweries in the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, such as Cisco, Harpoon, Wachusett, Hopsters, and many more. A scenic indoor/outdoor venue overlooking Boston Harbor is enhanced by the live entertainment and the free unlimited 2oz. beer samplers allotted with the purchase of a ticket. Check out the full list of participating breweries and sign up here!
