For Halloween

Things are getting a little spookier around these parts.  From local trick or treating to spooky excursions, Caught in Southie is offering up suggestions of where you can find Halloween fun and fright.

Zombie March X – Be prepared for the walking dead on Saturday, October 24th from 4pm-8pm.  Just as the sun begins to set, be on the lookout for zombies galore in the South Station area and the streets of city – we secretly hoping they stagger their way into Southie.  If you would like to participate you can check out their rules etc. here: https://www.facebook.com/events/615742978571402/

Get crafty with Bringing Up Baby (663 East Broadway)  Thursday, October 29th from 11:30 to 6:30pm.   Stop by and created a haunted craft.  Costumes are encouraged.  Perfect for preschoolers! 

Trick or Treating on Broadway! Trick or treat!  Smell my feet!  Beware of little ghosts and goblins (and their parents) roaming the streets in search for Halloween candy.  East and West Broadway will be filled with trick or treaters on Friday, October 30th from 4pm-6pm picking up candy from local businesses and residences.  So be warned!  This event is free and is hosted by the members of the South Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Family fun at the St. Peter Academy Spooktacular Halloween Event! Post trick or treating on Broadway – head to the Lithuanian Club – 368 West Broadway!   Bring the kids to this fun-filled event with food, crafts, contests, dancing and more!  $10 for family of four.  Fun begins at 6pm.  

Who says you have to wait until the 31st for Halloween? Start the party on October 30th with the best bar crawl in the Seaport District, Halloween on the Harbor! Walk or ride in a decorated duck boat to various venues from 7-10 PM and then hit the after party at MJ O’Connor’s at the Westin Hotel. Dust off those dance shoes this Halloween! Kick it old school Southie-style at Seapoint (367 East Eighth Street).  Revisit the good old days and enjoy Southie DJ legend Dru Erico as he spins the tunes at Seapoint on Saturday, October 31st beginning at 8pm.   Plan on dancing the night away to such local favorites like Happy Radio and Young Hearts Run Free.   Wear your costume – you might win a prize!

In the spirit! The Beauty Bar (699 East Broadway) is getting in the Halloween spirit by dressing up every day next week in costume.  Stop by and check Southie’s newest beauty hot spot.  They can even make your hair into the Bride of Frankenstein or give you Daenerys Targaryen braids. 

Halloween at the Edward Kennedy Institute!  Things are getting scary at the EMK Institute this Halloween.  From 10am-3pm on Saturday, October 31st enjoy spooky stories, treats, ghosts & skeletons and more!  Free admission for kids under 17.  $2 off admission if you’re wearing a costume. Day of the Dead at Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar (412 East Broadway) – On October 31st at 9pm put on your best costume and head to Loco.  Featuring DJ Ryan Brown, a photo booth and of course plenty of tequila! Best part, no cover!! 

Ghost Up the Post – Kick it old school with a post party at the Perkins Post (corner of O and Fourth).  Wear your costume, drink cheap drinks and dance the night away to local legend DJ Kait.  Cover is $10. 

Halloween at The Junction!  Dress up in your costume and head to The Junction – 110 Dorchester Street for their annual Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 31st.  $100 gift card goes to the winner of their costume contest!
