As The Urban Art Bar is settling in to its new and improved location at 709 East Broadway, they are embracing the mantra of “the art of…” and celebrating all art forms in life, not just the traditional painting on canvas – including music, health and wellness, mixology, wine and beer pairings, children’s series, senior citizen events, fashion and style, reading, good old school fun of board games, and the togetherness of people and beyond. 

Here are some just some of the events they have store for us, Southie:

The Art Of The Children’s Series- This is a once per week class tailored specifically for children ages 5-12. The purpose is to let children have a fun outlet to mingle with other children while being guided through art instruction in a variety of mediums. The classes will be held Saturdays from 10am-1pm. During this time parents are able to drop off their children to a fun and exciting studio where there will be an artist and manager in attendance. Parents can either sign their children up online on a per class basis of $30 per child per class or sign up for a month long subscription for $25 per child per class. The curriculum is attached to this proposal. Snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Class Schedule also available online for sign up- Saturday September 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, 10-1pm.

The Art Of The Book Club- People love reading and getting together with friends to discuss their books of the month over some cocktails and appetizers. Starting September 9th at 6:30pm book your space for your book club at The Urban Art Bar. Enjoy cocktails and food in a beautiful setting while having some great conversation about literature. The Art Of The Board Game – Remember the days when we were kids and would have a group of friends over and play board games for hours on end? Well, The Urban Art Bar is bringing that nostalgic pastime back in our first ever Board Game Sunday Funday Event on September 14th from 5-11pm. Go online and ?reserve seats for you and friends free of charge. On that night come in and choose from.  On that night come in and choose frorom the many games we have on our game wall. Get ready to eat, drink and beat your friends at games such as (Cards Against Humanity, Apples to Apples, Battleship, Jenga, Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, Cards, Dominoes, Operation, Trouble, Checker, Connect Four, Uno, Sorry and others). The Art of Mixology- Have you ever wondered how your favorite cocktails get created and how they taste so darn good? Well here is your shot to become a fan favorite with friends and family at get-togethers! On September 18th from 630-10pm join mixologist Lonnie Newburn from Grand Ten Distilling in a hands-on mixology session where you will learn to make 4 creative cocktails. You will learn about the spirits in the cocktails, proper measurements for drinks, blending, tasting, and the best part of all…….you get to keep your bartending tool kit! Food and drinks will also be available for purchase throughout the night. Tickets are $45 per person and space is limited so make your reservation today!

The Art of Fashion, Hair and Makeup- Join us for a Runway Night out! On September 17th from 630-10pm join The Urban Art Bar, Nurture Salon and Habit Boutique for an unforgettable night of mingling, music, cocktails, and the headline event, a runway show of the fashion, hair and makeup of the amazing boutiques and salons that make up our community! The event will start with cocktail hour and move into the fashion show with photography. Following that guests will be able to mingle with the models, business owners and peers. Food and drinks sold separately. This event is free of charge. Space is limited so make your reservation today!

Wind Down Mondays– Alright so the weekend is over and we are all back to work. BUT…………… survived Monday so why not reward yourself with a complimentary wine and beer tasting at The Urban Art Bar. Starting M o n d a y September 8th, and continuing every Monday from 5-8pm join winemakers and brewers from around the country as they share with you their passion for wine. Enjoy 4-6 different varietals in a casual setting with friends and learn a little something in the process! Sign up online or walk in. Food and drink are available as well. This is a free event, however space is limited.
