City Hall gets some green grass
The concrete pit that is City Hall will get a few updates this week. On Wednesday, July 15, Mayor Martin J. Walsh will host a City Hall Plaza Party, celebrating the launch of Boston’s new “Front Lawn” on City Hall Plaza. The 40×40 foot stretch of astroturf will be rolled out on Wednesday, and will have lawn games, board games and new seating available, as well as music and food trucks. Hmmm….sounds a little like another lawn in Southie.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The party will begin at 11:00AM and officially end at 2:00PM. The turf will remain outside until the end of the outdoor season. This newest development is part of Mayor Walsh’s efforts to enliven City Hall and the Plaza. From the Adirondack chairs to new tables and lights to brighten up the exterior of City Hall, Mayor Walsh is dedicated to making City Hall and the Plaza a welcoming place people want to visit.
