Pickleball is definitely having a moment in the neighborhood. PKL opened its doors last year to large crowds playing the sport, enjoying fun cocktails and great food right on Old Colony Ave. Then in May, Lawn on D announced they would offer free pickleball courts for visitors to enjoy! They even host a tournament on Saturdays from 3pm-5pm. Free to play, with prizes up for grabs and equipment for you to borrow courtesy of Citizen Bank. The South Boston Pickleball Club plays games during the week at the courts on Farragut Road.
Now the latest addition to the pickleball scene is the Harpoon Brewery‘s Pickleball Social Club! Enjoy pickle-board courts, shuffleboard, and cornhole in conjunction with Hub Sports Boston. Also available icy pickle pops from Wild Pops popsicles and 10-plus draft beers to try! Open daily from noon until 9 p.m. The new social club also offers lessons and leagues. You can learn more here.
Fenway Park is also hosting professional and amateur pickleball matches this week – in addition to court rentals for you to enjoy. You can learn more here.
