Fall is the perfect time to explore and discover the innovation, culture, and art that’s happening right here in our neighborhood. 555 Gallery located on 555 East 2nd Street, specializes in bringing the work of emerging and established fine art photographers, collectors, and buyers from around Boston and the globe. As Boston’s newest gallery, 555 features contemporary fine art photography and meaningful exhibitions, all while supporting local and growing talent.
Reopening November 7th after a few weeks of installation, the gallery will present: “Spellbound: A World in Flux“until December 12th. This unique exhibition features video installations by the internationally recognized artist, Madeleine Altmann. Using all recycled materials, Altmann and her partner Andreas Uthoff, transports us from winter to summer above and below the waterline, through a lense just beneath the surfaces of reality. “Spellbound” displays our imaginative world through ripples and crackles, a test of self amid a world in flux. Altmann will also premier new work, “Diving”, during the installation.
In addition to “Spellbound: A World in Flux”, 555 Gallery is participating in South Boston Open Studios on November 7th & 8th. Come meet new artists and discover what’s new on the Southie art scene! It’s free and open to the public. Learn more here: http://southbostonopenstudios.org
