Ash Wednesday in South Boston

Wednesday is Ash Wednesday – marking the beginning of the 40 days of Lent before Easter Sunday. Many Catholics will signify Ash Wednesday by getting ashes placed in the shape of a cross on their foreheads. It’s technically not a Holy Day of Obligation but if you’re into this ritual, here’s where to get your ashes – please see below:
St. Brigid Church: 7AM, 10:30AM and 6PM
Gate of Heaven Church: 9AM and 12Noon
St. Augustine Chapel 4:30PM
St. Peter Church 12pm
St. Monica Church 9am-7pm
Ash Wednesday also kicks off the old “no meat on Friday (and Ash Wednesday)” rule for those of you playing along.
Fish Lovers
Whether you are a practicing Catholic or just love fish – Seapoint’s famous fish is back for Lent. Fresh haddock and scallops will be on the menu on Fridays. Enjoy your seafood fried, baked or parmesan style over pasta. Each meal is served with salad, bread, and your choice of potato. See you there.

Why is St Peter, St Monica, and Our Lady of Czestochowa excluded from the list?
I didn’t exclude – we were sent these times from this parish. Do you have the information? I’d be happy to post it.
