A new neighborhood pop up, Wear Southie, brings neighborhood pride to holiday shopping

Opening December 1 at 124 Dorchester Street at 12pm

Southie pride just found its home for the holidays. Beginning December 1, Wear Southie will open a month-long pop-up shop at 124 Dorchester Street, offering high-quality South Boston-inspired apparel—think cozy sweatshirts, tees, and gear that reps the neighborhood.

The idea came from a very familiar moment. When founder Kim Vaughan’s daughter went looking for a “Southie” sweatshirt for a friend’s birthday, there was no place in the neighborhood to grab one—unless it was St. Patrick’s Day merch. “Southie has some great existing retail, but we saw a real opening and felt the holidays would be the perfect time to create something for all who feel connected to this neighborhood,” said Vaughan.

To bring the project to life, Vaughan teamed up with longtime friend Carolyn Spicer. The two have lived in South Boston for more than 20 years—“which we know doesn’t qualify us for OFS status,” they joke—but their heart for the community runs deep. Wear Southie is the latest women-owned entrepreneurial project for both, blending their love of the neighborhood with locally inspired style.

The pop-up also comes with a give-back component—something very Southie. Shoppers will see holiday promotions benefiting The South Boston Neighborhood House (The Ollie) and Colin’s Joy Project, two organizations at the core of community support.

If the early excitement is any sign, this won’t be just a one-time thing. The team says if demand is strong, Wear Southie plans to return with another pop-up before St. Patrick’s Day 2026.

Plus – Wear Southie will be a stop on the Caught in Southie (CIS) Festive Holiday Stoop Stroll to benefit the Ollie on December 13th.

Maybe you should look at the Spot on Dot Ave. Southie owned shop for many years. They sell Southie gear year round.

They do not. They no longer have items in stock all the time. They are mainly a spot for screening/embroidery orders.
