Sweat it Out(doors): Summer Workouts
Summer’s the perfect time to ditch your gym membership and get your sweat on outside. From beach yoga to backyard bootcamp, no matter what kind of activity you’re into, we have an awesome outdoor class for you. So grab a friend and try one of our picks!
Yoga
There’s plenty of places to feel totally zen this summer. From the beach to the bar, try these outdoor spots for some savasana and sun.
Head to Carson Beach on Sunday mornings from 8:15-9:15 for a beach yoga class taught by East Side Yoga & Fitness. Bring your own mat and $10 cash to drop in.
Radiant Yoga will hold weekly Sunday morning yoga classes at Castle Island from 9am-10am. Class will be led by Chanel Luck. Mondays and Thursdays from 7:15 – 8:15 pm they hold a Radiant Flow on the Patio class. Relax and embrace the fresh air while the sun sets.
Rise & Shine with Jenna Hill Yoga! Head the Outlook Rooftop at the Envoy Hotel on Sundays at 9am-10am. Class is $10 for all levels. Kindly arrive at check-in by 8:30am and remember to BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat). Classes will be running twice monthly through August. You can register here!
It’s all about balance right? Start your Sunday with a 50 minute yoga class by Beats by 1111 at Cisco Brewers Seaport. Post yoga class stick around for a beer/wine/cocktail at Cisco. You also get VIP access into the brewery – (skip the line – class ends 10 minutes before the doors open) plus a mat rental. Cost is $20. SUNDAYS 11:00a- 11:50a – starts May 19th and ends Oct 13th. Flow then Brunch. On Saturdays at 11am, enjoy an hour Vinyassa Flow with East Side Yoga and Fitness with Nikki McMasters in the beautiful garden at Publico! $15 cash at class. Sign up online. Treat yourself to brunch post yoga at Publico!
Seaport Sweat is offering free outdoor yoga on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays all summer long! Classic Vinyasa classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays, but if you’re looking to get your groove on, Fridays are HipHop themed!
ShrINK Summer Fitness Series is back for another year! Come join Corepower from 6-7 pm on Wednesdays from June 12th – August 28th for free outdoor yoga Underground at InkBlock. Don’t forget to bring your own water and mat!
Outdoor Bootcamp
Per usual, Seaport Sweat is offering a variety of bootcamp classes throughout the course of the summer. One of these being Broncore Bootcamp, which is a combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), core, and strength training condensed into one class. Get ready to work! These sessions are offered on Mondays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
If you’re a Pilates-lover, you have to try the Pilates Bootcamp! This class is offered every Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Come try a 45-minute, full-body workout challenge, and don’t forget to bring your own mat!
Babysitter cancelled for the day? JPPilates Stroller Bootcamp is specifically made for those with little ones. Not only is it a way to spend quality time with your children, but a great social scene for those looking to make new friends! A high-energy, core-strengthening class with your kids at your side, what more could you want? This class will be offered Tuesdays from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. all summer long.

Run! Run! Run!
Join a free run club! The Southie Run Club meets every Monday night at 6:30pm at Backyard Betty’s. Post run stick around for drinks and apps (it’s all about balance, right?)
Boston Parks Fitness Series
Totally free, fun, and the perfect excuse to get outside and explore your city. This series sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield and hosted by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Boston Public Health Commission.
