This year 240 members of the L Street Running Club will be running in the marathon.  The L Street Running Club is one of the largest contingencies participating in the 2014 Boston Marathon.  On Thursday evening the group gathered to remember last year’s tragedy at their annual pre-marathon meeting.

As part of the evening, The World Series Trophy was on hand with Sgt. Kenny Sprague of the MBTA police who is  a member of the L Street Running Club.  Sgt Sprague was in the bleachers in 2013 awaiting his wife’s finish when the bombs went off.  Sprague was pictured on the NY Times front page jumping into action as a off duty first responder. Also on hand were BAA’s Race Director Dave McGillivray, Greg Meyer – the last American to win the Boston Marathon, Geoff Smith – celebrating his 30th anniversary of Winning the Boston Marathon and the dedicated, determined and strong men and women of L Street that have been training hard to run the 26.2 miles on Monday.

The group also raised funds for the Martin Richard Charitable Foundation.

We wish all 240 runners representing L Street the best of luck on Monday!  Boston Strong!
