This isn’t Loon Mountain…or is it?

Snowboarding at Dorchester Heights
It was way back in 2015 during Snowmageddon when Mayor Marty Walsh had to tell people during a press conference to stop jumping out of second floor windows into the snow. “This isn’t Loon Mountain…” he reminded us. Well, evidently it is.
Only In Boston posted this amazing photo of someone snowboarding at Dorchester Heights. Granted, there are cars and traffic below on Thomas Park but hey, go for it!
Not 100% sure but we can’t recall anyone snowboarding or doing any type of Extreme Sports in Southie – other than Jimmy Allen’s legendary motorcycle jump at the stairs at M Street Park back in the day (if you know, you know)!
Take a gander at the comments on Only in Boston’s twitter post re: the mention of Dorchester Heights. Many people thinking that “Dorchester Heights” is a made-up term as a ploy to sell real estate in Dorchester- remember Broadway Village? Well, Dorchester Heights doesn’t exist in Dorchester – it is a historical site in South Boston – but that’s a whole other post!
