The Curious Case of the Framed Photo At Castle Island

Last weekend, when I was out chatting with the James Beard Foundation peeps about all things Sullivan’s out at Castle Island, Steve, the nicest Park Ranger, stopped me when I was leaving.
In his hand was a photo of five gentlemen dressed to the nines, complete with hats – a total Godfather central casting vibe. The photo was framed in pale gold and was hanging on a fence off to the left of Sully’s (when looking at it).
Steve was not sure who hung the photo or why they hung the photo, but he deduced that maybe someone hung it in tribute to someone who might have recently passed away. It is not uncommon to see a funeral procession drive out to Castle Island for one last drive. He understood that it is important photo that belongs to a family. Maybe they forgot they hung the photo up or just haven’t sent anyone out to Castle Island to retrieve it.
The wire that kept the photo on the fence broke and Steve picked it up and put in a place for safe keeping. So if you recognize these fellas in the photo, you can reach out to Steve – who is always in the area at Castle Island. He has your photo.
