Spot saving
In Marblehead, it’s not the snow that gets people territorial about parking spots. It’s the falling leaves of autumn. Following the lead of South Boston, Marbleheaders are marking spots with lawn chairs. By the looks of it, this person did not in fact fully sweep out the spot – a direct violation of Rule #2 in the Unofficial Rules of Saving Spots in Southie.

Upon a closer look, Marblehead doesn’t even have a curb or a sidewalk to clearly mark-off. And don’t people from Marblehead have driveways? If that were Southie those two chairs would be either a.) run over or b.) stolen and stored for use in first Southie snowstorm of the 2011/2012 season.
Thank you to Tim Gray and his lovely wife Kim – part-time Southie people/part-time Marbleheaders – who submitted this picture taken in Marblehead. Thanks for sharing! And tell those people in Marblehead they would never survive a winter in Southie!
