Remember our veterans

Members of the Thomas J. Fitzgerald Post #561 (Veterans of Foreign Wars), replaced wreaths at Heroes Squares throughout South Boston.

“South Boston doesn’t forget our veterans and those that have sacrificed so much for our nation,” said Ed Flynn, commander of the veterans post.

Way to go!  Thanks for making Southie the awesome place it is!

For years I have driven an honor guard around Southie, dedication the squares of veterans except for one, the pole was knocked down by a truck and never replaced it, it is located on West Seventh Street and C Street across from the housing development, I post I drove was the Darius post, we drove to four squares in Southie then to Dorchester heights for Mass then to New Calvary Cemetery for four graves don’t let that corner go without its marker anymore.
