Haymakers for Hope
Southie native Mike Wallace is lacing up his gloves and jumping in the ring. Who is he battling? Cancer. Mike is participating in Haymakers for Hope a boxing competition that raises funds for The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on May 17th at the House of Blues.
When asked why he’s fighting? Mike said, ” I realized I have too many reasons not to fight. I have lost too many of my loved ones to a disease called Cancer, and watched too many family members and friends fight with everything they got to get their health back. It’s heartbreaking. And it’s motivating. I’m doing this because they fought and are fighting.
