Here’s the scoop on Gatey CYO Basketball:
A big Southie congratulations to the the Gate of Heaven CYO Girls High School Basketball Team for capturing the the CYO State Championship defeating St. Marys of Franklin to win the title. Final score:41-33. Way to go girls: Liv Callanan, Olivia Dooley, Katelyn Evans, Caitlin Florentino, Emily Menjin, Hayley Nee, Alex Wilson, Kathryn Zablocki, and Lauren Zablocki. Coaches are Jennifer Evans and Joe Zablocki.
Also congratulations to the Gatey CYO Boys High School (Intermediate Team). The defending New England champs were finalists in this years State Tournament.
Hats off to Joey Maiullari who won the district finals in the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition, hitting 25 of 25 free throws.
