Friendly Reminder from Megan Lee
I was ‘caught’ off guard last night when my good friend Chris Lane reminded me to check my South Boston Resident sticker. Apparently, most stickers expired on November 30, including mine.
Okay, no big deal! I will just go online and renew – easy as that, right? Oh no…. since I somehow misplaced or maybe discarded the reminder – I now have to take a trip into City Hall to renew my sticker. The deadline to renew sticker online or by mail was November 30, 2011.
Well, I work in Hyde Park – City Hall is a very difficult place to get to but unless I want to get a parking ticket every night, I know what I must do Monday morning!
Just a little FYI:
(I heard from a friend) if you have outstanding parking tickets, those MUST be paid in full before you can renew. I am a law abiding ‘PAHRKER’ so I am not talking about myself!!
Happy parking Southie!

Thanks for the reminder, Megan. I bet a lot of folks have been caught off-guard.
I am one of those who caught on a few days ahead of Nov. 30th, but still had to send someone ("my authorized representative") to City Hall for the renewal. It seems, even in this age of technology, online renewals require 4-6 weeks to process (???). Really? They can't figure out a way to get this done in less time than that?
They used to offer renewals at the Frontage Road Towlot facility (and on Saturdays), but that is no longer the case. At least if it were still convenient to do it in person, the whole process would not be so onerous.
Just sayin'…
You Dont have to go to city hall, just do it online https://wmq.etimspayments.com/pbw/include/boston/rppform.jsp
And if you dont know your current permit #, just call them and ask!
