Free Blue Bikes

To celebrate Independence Day and to support a healthy and convenient mode of holiday transportation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (“Blue Cross”) is sponsoring free rides on Bluebikes, Metro Boston‘s public bike share system, throughout the day on Thursday, July 4. Blue Cross is providing Bluebikes users access to free two-hour trips on the 4th of July when using the code “BlueCross4” in the Bluebikes app or http://ride.bluebikes.com/bluecross4/. Blue Cross is also sponsoring two bike valets, at Copley Square station in Boston and Kendall St. station in Cambridge, from 5-9 PM, to guarantee riders will have a place to dock bikes and that bikes will be available to ride as they enjoy 4th of July festivities around Metro Boston.

Raise the Roof

Head to the best rooftop bar in all of South Boston – Coppersmith! Coppersmith’s Air Deck is a 3,000 sq ft coveted al fresco space outfitted with a vintage Airstream trailer-turned-full service bar! Take in the views, catch a breeze and sip on some summer cocktails!

The Beach is that Way

This Summer, Publico Street Bistro will transform its interior courtyard and garden space into Publico Beach Club, a lively, beach inspired pop-up concept tucked away in the middle of the neighborhood. Featuring retractable roof, frozen drinks, cabana-style seating, nautical decor and maritime kitsch, Publico Beach Club will officially open on Friday, June 28th. Full details here!

Baby Your a Firework

On Tuesday, July 2, head to the Seaport District to see fireworks along the water. For a romantic pick – head to Mastro’s Ocean Club. With 180 degree views of the Boston Harbor and 60 seats on the water-front patio, Mastro’s has a front seat to the festivities as they enjoy the famous steaks, two-foot-tall seafood tower, popular lobster mashed potatoes, and the rich melt-in-your-mouth Signature Warm Butter Cake. Turn it around

The USS Constitution will be making its annual turnaround on July 4th at 12noon! For ultimate viewing of Old Ironsides, Castle Island is the place to be between 11:30am-12pm. While you’re out there you might as well get some lunch or an ice cream at Sullivan’s! The turnaround will commemorate the 243rd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Happy Birthday America!
