Let’s Go: Publico Beach Club
Listen up, Southie! There’s a new summer hot spot in town!
This Summer, Publico Street Bistro will transform its interior courtyard and garden space into Publico Beach Club, a lively, beach inspired pop-up concept tucked away in the middle of the neighborhood. Featuring retractable roof, frozen drinks, cabana-style seating, nautical decor and maritime kitsch, Publico Beach Club will officially open on Friday, June 28th.
Snack Shack is open
Executive Chef, Joel Howard has created a beach Snack Shack inspired menu to the likes of; Beach Sticker Oysters (fried Island Creek Oysters, housemade tartar, fries, 15) Drunken Clam Fritters (spicy remoulade, 12,) Rock Lobster Roll (hot butter poached Maine lobster, fries, 27,) Ceviche (white fish, shrimp, cucumber, leche de tigre, tobiko, 16,) Salt N’ Pepper Yucca Fries (salsa verde, 9,) as well as his signature Hot Dawg (kayem hot dog, poblano chili, pineapple salsa, bacon, lime mayo, 7).

In addition to the Snack Shack menu, Publico’s full dinner menu and weekend brunch menu will also be available both in the Beach Club and the dining room. A trio of frozen summer-inspired sips will include; Spiked Lemonade (citrus vodka, limoncello, 12,) Dark N’ Stormy (Goslings Black Seal, ginger, 12,) and Frosé (rosé, vodka, 12.) Shareable cocktails by the pitcher (minimum of four people,) will include; Blue Crush (choice of vodka, gin, rum or tequila, house blue curacao, lemon, prosecco, $65,) Housemade Red or White Sangria (65,) and a duo of Jet Ski Shotski’s – Blue Lagoon (vodka, house blue curacao, lime,) & Beach Bum (coconut rum, pineapple,) priced at $40 for four shots.
Throughout the summer, Publico Beach Club will host a series of Beach House Parties that will treat guests to a variety of programming and special events, including; screenings of classic summer movies projected on the interior walls of the courtyard, live entertainment, culinary delights to the likes of a fish fry, Caribbean night and a Grecian Island hopping menu inspired by co-owner, Theo Bougas’ summer travels to his family in Greece. The first Beach House Party will be hosted on July 5th and 6th to celebrate Independence Day weekend. Additional details and schedule will be announced via the @PublicoBoston social channels.
