in Storyland

Storyland is a destination for thousands of families from all over the world.  From May through October, children are delighted by this storybook character based amusement park.  It’s sort of a rite of passage growing up in New England, to make the pilgrimage to Glenn, NH to spend the weekend at Storyland.  It’s a family ritual passed down from generation to generation.

It’s a small world

When you do make the trip, it’s inevitable that you will see someone you know from Southie.  This year we bumped into the Dearden Family from East Broadway. Little did they know they would be Caught in Storyland.

Kristin (Ivaska) and Peter Dearden
Married 5 years
Children:  Ben 4.5, Stella 3.5 and Charlotte (who didn’t make the trip – 21 months.)

Favorite Ride:

  • Ben’s – all of the water rides
  • Stella – shopping in the gift shop and seeing Cinderella
  • Kristin and Peter’s – The train – a few moments of peace and quiet.

We also ran into Tommy Curley and his family.  He stood out because of his totally awesome “Southie” t-shirt.  It was also his 50th birthday too.  Happy Birthday!

Also “Caught” in New Hampshire – Artie Downey of the famous Downey Family vacationing on the other side of the Kancamagus Highway in Lincoln.  He was spending the day with his kids at Whale’s Tale.

Like attracts like

Where ever you go in life, you will eventually will run into someone from Southie.  It’s just a law of attraction.
