Moss Lynch is a hard worker.  The young South Boston native has been actively involved in fundraising and volunteering for local businesses and non-profits since he was a young high school student. One of the influencers of the South Boston Youth Ambassador Program, Moss currently heads up the South Boston Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund. He works full-time for Safe Routes to School, a program through MassDot that promotes pedestrian and bicycle safety in grades K-8 across 800 schools in Massachusetts. But there’s more…..

This past July Moss launched his own event photography and social media promotion company called Capturing Inspiration. “The name is meant to reflect the work that I am photographing. The majority of my work is done with non-profits and organizations that are working hard to better our community, and that has always been inspiring to me,” explained Lynch.

And it is no surprise that Moss’ business has taken off at lightening speed. In just a few short months he has secured a number of high profile events including the Taste of South Boston, The South Boston Street Festival, crafting a social media platform for the South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation and he was hired by Mayor Walsh’s office to photograph and promote the Italian Festival. He just finished photographing Councilor Mike Flaherty’s new headquarters.

“What really motivates me is helping these organizations establish a recognized social media presence, which in turn helps the organizations gain volunteers, donors and new funding opportunities. Any of my jobs that are for nonprofit fundraisers I automatically give back 20% of my fee, and I offer a 15% discount for all work I do for local South Boston businesses,” he added.

Moss uses both high end digital equipment and every now and then his cell phone to capture images. “I rely heavily on my Nikon D3400 as it is bluetooth equipped so I can snap images and simultaneously upload to my cell or my laptop and email immediately to the client. I also use the Adobe editing suite to perfect the images and make sure they are the exact dimensions and size for different mediums that the client requests.”
