FAQ’s

How do you feel?
Physically, I feel exhausted.  On Saturday, I woke up and felt like I had a hangover…even though I haven’t had a sip of booze!!    I had a little bit of a headache and my body felt like it was hit by a truck.  I can’t tell if the Bikram is helping me or slowly killing me.
Mentally, I feel strong.  I’m impressed that I’ve actually been able to stick to this.
I  feel the urge to eat really clean, fresh, healthy food* (* this does not mean I will no longer participate in Fat Sundays when the 30 Day Challenge is over).
I feel like I may be losing my sense of humor

Do you notice any physical changes and have you lost weight?
A handful of people have told me that my skin is glowing.  Yesterday, a co-worker said, ‘You have definitely lost weight in your face and you no longer have a triple chin.’  This morning, another co-worker said, ‘You’re skin looks really great.’

I have weighed myself twice.  The first time, (1 week in to the challenge), I had lost 4lbs since the last time I weighed myself back in late July.  Two days later, I was over excited and decided to weigh myself again.   I gained 1 ½ pounds and wanted to throw the scale through the window.   I haven’t weighed in since.  One of my partners in the 30 day challenge is convinced that he is gaining weight because he can not stop eating.

What have you been doing on the weekends?
Bikram, Movie (The Debt), Closet Cleanse with a client http://www.showmestyle.net/service.html SOWA market, cooking, cleaned my apartment, dinner with my mom, dinner with my dad, dinner with my girlfriends – we made veggie enchiladas…we didn’t drink…we had a great time…and we still like each other!!!  Kimballs Farm – Chip & Put and batting cages, and I pet a chicken.

Have you gone out to a bar since you started the challenge?
The first week/weekend, I had to lock it down.  I avoided bars, restaurants, and friends.  Last Tuesday, I had dinner with my father and we both ordered Pellegrino with lemon and lime.   I’ve never been one to order sparkling water at dinner, but surprisingly…it wasn’t half bad.

On Sunday, I went to a real live bar for the first time since I started the challenge.  I saw some family and friends who had been there since 2:00pm watching football.  I ordered soda water with lemon.   I was surprised at how easy it was to not drink…but then again…I only stayed 25 minutes.

General Thoughts
I need a nap.

I still like mayo.

Soda water is to Pellegrino as Aoli is to Mayo

I think I’m slowly losing my mind. read more: https://caughtinsouthie.com/feature/30-days-booze-free
