Wine Wednesday at Capo: Take a Tour of Italy!

Take a tour of Italy!

Capo is hosting a special wine tasting on Wednesday night with an Italian wine tour fearing wines from Abruzzo and the Marche; Umani Ronchi! Enjoy a total of six wines and six small bites for you to leisurely enjoy in the comfort of Capo’s warm dining room as the fire roars and you mingle with other wine curious soon to be friends.

The Chef de Cuisine, Ciro Fodera, will have food pairings for each wine.

Here’s a glance at the menu:

Umani Ronchi Pecorino: truffled Pecorino with honeycomb & microgreens

Umani Ronchi Verdicchio: Prosciutto wrapped melon with basil oil

Umani Ronchi ‘Podere’ Montepulciano: Steak Tartare crostini

Umani Ronchi ‘San Lorenzo’ Rosso Conero: Duck confit with cherry mostarda

Umani Ronchi ‘Jorio’: Wild Mushroom risotto & aged balsamic

Umani Ronchi ‘Cùmaro’: Braised Shortrib over porcini polenta

This is not your typical, sit down, time consuming wine dinner but rather a walk around, fun and interactive experience where you’ll get a sample of all the offerings at your own pace poured by the wine professionals themselves. At the end you’ll learn what ‘grows together, goes together’ and the difference between Montepulciano aged in stainless steel and in oak barriques without all the uptightness of a sit down soirée. So grab a group of friends and wine down with Capo to ease your way into 2019!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to Kevin Mabry, AGM & Beverage Director of Capo, at kevin@caposouthboston.com or by calling the restaurant at 617-993-8080. This event is 21+ with valid ID. Tickets are just $40 and can be purchased here!
