Kentucky Derby Roundup!

And they’re off!  It’s the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.  20 horses will compete and only one lucky winner will receive a $2 million purse!  We say bet Improbable– he’s one of our favorites to win! Publico

Publico is hosting the 5th Annual Great American Derby Day Party in the restaurants garden.  Get your Derby outfits ready!  Enjoy specialty cocktails and more!  The space features an outdoor bar, ivy-covered trellis and covered lounge areas that boast fire pits and built-in flat-screen TVs. Gather

Plenty of ice cold Mint Juleps will be ready at Gather!  The race will be on the TV and don’t forget your fancy hats! Eat, drink and cheer for you horse!

Amrheins

Mix and mingle with friends and neighbors at a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 4th at Amrheins at 4:00 pm. There will be raffles and prizes for best hat and best dressed, so wear your favorite Derby attire! Tickets are $50. Call for tickets! 617-268-6189 Proceeds will benefit the the Michael Joyce Memorial Playground at Marine Park in South Boston. 

Coppersmith

Coppersmith will be hosting a Southie Derby Party all day long on Saturday. If the weather’s nice, they’ll break out their Airdeck flat-screens; otherwise, they’ll have their projection screens showing the race. Mint Juleps will be flowing and don’t forget to wear your best hat!

Capo

Capo will be showing the big race both upstairs and downstairs in the Supper Club. Enjoy Derby cocktails like Mint Julep, Pimm’s Cup, and Whiskey Smash. Prizes and surprises will be in store as well!

Backyard Betty’s

The Derby will be on at Backyard Betty’s and they’ve partnered up with Deep Eddy Vodka to celebrate The US Triple Crown Races with a fun and unique RaceBook Passport Event series! Have a drink on May 4th and get your passport stamped.  Have another drink on May 18th for the Preakness Stakes and then on June 8th for the Belmont Stakes. You might just win $1000!  Sweet!

Worden Hall

Worden Hall will be celebrating from 3pm-7pm with fresh Mint Juleps!  Dress in your best Churchill Downs outfits! 

Lower Mills Tavern

Enjoy Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders madewith turkey and bacon with sliced tomatoes and a mornay sauce poured over the sliders and baked and Mint Juleps made with Four Roses Bourbon, mint, simple syrup and splash of soda water at Lower Mills Tavern.  Save room for dessert – Mint Julep Cupcakes made with vanilla bourbon cupcake topped with mint buttercream!  Derby attire suggested!

The Bowery Bar
