As if we needed an excuse to have a cold one on a Saturday, right? Lucky for us, there are plenty of local watering holes where you can properly celebrate National Drink a Beer Day in Southie. From seemingly endless draft lists to beer-only specials, whack a few back at these favorite spots.

Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant

Grab a seat at the bar, or a table and enjoy a rotating draught list paired with some really good bar food.

The Broadway

Featuring 28 beers on tap, The Broadway has everything from classic Bud Lite to local brewers like to Lord Hobo and Castle Island!  Beer pairs well with their wood oven pizza!

Local 149

With over 25 beers to choose from, your bound to find something you like at Local. Plus, they like to give local breweries the spotlight. (Hence the name..)

Roza Lyons

At this local favorite spot, you’ll find bottle, cans and drafts! Everything from Cisco Brewers to to Corona is represented!  Try their pretzels sticks and cheese dip!  You’ll thank us later!


An old favorite! We love the BOM (Beer of the Month), which lets us drink a beer of their choosing for only $3.

Cisco Brewers

Cisco Brewers Pop Up is back by popular demand with a second season of its “Island Vibes” featuring more award-winning craft beer and wines, more live music and even more food trucks. The Seaport pop-up will be bigger and better this season with the addition of  two additional bars that will feature Cisco’s innovative beers and Nantucket Vineyard wine based cocktails inspired by Triple Eight Distillery. Guests will be able to pair the Cisco offerings with fresh seafood and tacos Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar!  In addition to Loco, you can also feast on Luke’s Lobster and Flatbread Company.  

Worden Hall

With an impressive beer line-up, this place is a brew-lovers dream. Offering 40 beers on tap and 60 choices of bottles, Worden Hall has a beer for everyone’s taste!  Plus, their menu offers items like deep dish pizza and Kobe Beef Chi Town Dogs  – perfect for eating with beer!

Trillium Brewing

Word on the street is Trillium Brewing is Southie’s favorite craft brewer! Served in bottles and growlers, this Fort Point brewery serves 15 different kinds of beer and are located at 369 Congress Street.
