Weekend Picks – April 8th

Eat:
Finally!  After being down for the count after a frozen pipe leak, Local 149 – 149 P Street –  is now open for business!  With a fresh, new makeover, including giant colorful mural and an amped up menu, make sure to stop by this weekend for dinner or brunch!   Don’t worry – Mac ’n Cheese Fritters are still on the menu!  Phew!

Drink:
April 7th is National Beer Day!  We say celebrated all weekend long!  Social Wines – 52 West Broadway – will be hosting a Mad Martha beer from Martha’s Vineyard tasting on Thursday, April 7th from 5:30pm-8pm.  Social Wines also carries Castle Island Brewing beer too – if you haven’t given it a try yet, now’s the perfect excuse!  It’s National Beer Day – why not?

Shop:
Adorn yourself at Ku De Ta – 663 East Broadway!  Now carrying The 2 Bandits, this gorgeous Southwestern brand of jewelry is both delicate yet bold and will definite give your spring wardrobe the punch in the arm it needs.  Stop by and check it out this weekend!

Pamper:
Beauty Bar – 699 East Broadway – is now hosting a new Breakfast Club – Friday morning blowouts that will last all weekend! Call 617-268-2800 to book your appointment!  Appointments begin at 7:30am and you’ll be looking like a bombshell all weekend!  Also, the Beauty Bar is now offering massages on Sunday – a perfect way to wind down the weekend and recharge for the week ahead.  You can schedule an appointment between 10am-3pm and when you do, you’ll receive a $20 gift card towards any future service!  Sweet!

Support:
The House is Where the Heart is  – a fundraiser for the South Boston Neighborhood House – Benefit and Auction takes place Friday, April 8th – 6pm-10pm at the Seaport World Trade Center.  Tickets are $75 if you purchase online $100 at the door.  Live and Silent Auction  – complimentary beverages and Hors D’oeuvres.  Come on out and show your support for this amazing Southie institution!  To purchase tickets visit eventbrite!

Play:
This ain’t your Nana’s Bingo! Gather up the girls, slips on your high heels and go play some Bingo!  This exciting night of cocktails, prizes and surprises will take place at South Boston Catholic Academy on Friday, April 8th at 6pm. There will be a cash bar, a chance to win prizes!  Tickets are $30 and are going fast.  You can reserve tables too!  Bring a snack to share! Dance:
Perry School Rocks! Support South Boston’s only waterfront public school at this fun event!  Dance, sing, laugh and drink on Saturday, April 9th from 7pm-Midnight at the Seapoint Restaurant – 367 East Eighth Street! Live music by Southie’s favorite band – Thomas Park.  Funds raised will go to activities, art supplies, field trips and more!  Tickets are $20

Unwind:
