Who wouldn’t love the gift of Boston shipped to their door?  Better yet, who wouldn’t love the gift of Southie delivered! The good people of The Boston Box asked us what we thought would make a great gift from Southie Boston and here are our answers:

In an ongoing blog series, we have asked the top lifestyle bloggers in the Boston area what they would want in their own Boston-themed gift boxes. Today’s guest is Maureen Dahill from Caught in Southie.

Before jumping into the contents of your gift box, what does Caught in Southie cover as a blog? My website is Caught in Southie – it covers news, entertainment, style, restaurants, bars, and culture.  It has a hyperlocal focus of South Boston.

To get a sense of your tastes, what is your favorite Boston restaurant? South Boston has so many new restaurants it’s hard to chose!  I love Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar – they have delicious food, a fun vibe and an amazing coconut margaritas.  A hidden gem is Cafe Porto Bello – classic Italian comfort food – nothing better than their chicken farm!

What about your favorite spot for a night out? Capo – is new Italian restaurant that has a great bar and jugs of wine!  I also love Committee on the waterfront.  They have really fun drinks!

As you may know, Boston Box plans to deliver the best Boston gift boxes available – with each themed gift box complete with items unique or exclusive to the city of Boston. With that said, we’re curious to know what you would want included in your ideal Boston-themed gift box.

What is your favorite snack item local to Boston? Believe it or not Southie has a macaronerie – Miam Miam Macaronerie has delicious macarons and they are so pretty too.

What is your favorite local brew to drink? I love Grand Ten Distilling!  Their spirits never disappoint! They have creative recipes for cocktails too.

Are there any specific clothing items or brands you would want included? There is a really amazing handmade knitting studio in Southie called Third Piece.  Also, “Southie” sweatshirts/hoodies are fun and can be found at a shop called Southie’s Own.

Lindsay Tia is a South Boston Accessories Boutique that sells her own line of American-made handbags and accessories.

Lastly, we have a miscellaneous item. Is there anything specific you would want included? Maybe something people are more unfamiliar with? Maybe something people are more unfamiliar with?  There is a great design studio in South Boston J Hill – and they make beautiful graphic prints of neighborhood/city prints and marathoner maps!   http://www.jhilldesign.com
