Caught in Southie had a chance to talk to Kelly Conway, owner of Envy Tan, and she cleared up some of the curiosity that surrounds the home tanning experience.
“We provide a luxury service at an affordable price. We do single visits and spray tan parties.” She elaborated, “From start to finish it is about a 20 minute appointment. We arrive at your location with our mobile equipment and pop up tent. No space is too small! A trained technician customizes a color to fit the clients skin tone and then applies it head to toe with a hand held spray system.” Conway noted that it is $50 for a single visit, but they offer party rates depending on size of the group. She spoke of the unique process that created Envy’s specific tanning blend, detailing the method by which the shades are made.
“We blend our own solution therefore it is exclusive to our company,” she explained, “The solution is a sugar cane based and lemon grass scented blend that leaves the client with a beautiful bronze without the harsh ‘spray tan smell.'” Envy credits itself with their safer, “UV-free alternative to the traditional methods of tanning,” and provides a substitute to the exceedingly popular tanning bed method of achieving that sun-kissed look. Envy services the Boston area, as well as the South Shore, Western Mass, Southeastern Mass, Bridgewater, and other areas in Massachusetts and extending to the greater New England area. They also have salons open in both Quincy and New London, CT.
