Make-up Trend Alert

A purple haze is settling upon faces this fall.  Pretty purples and deep plum is a must-try trend in make-up but fear not – the shade works with many skin tones and comfort levels.  Lauren Genatassio, make-up guru and owner of Sarra (840 Summer Street) offers up some tips on how to add a little color to your face this fall. Sarra has everything from eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners and blushes that feature this fall trend.

Dare to go a little deeper this fall when it comes to your lip color:
Try a bold plum or deep bourdeux on your lip this season.  Watch out that you don’t apply to deep or you run the risk of looking a little “goth.” Also, with such a bold lip choice, make sure the rest of your make-up is soft and simple.

Faint of heart:
Frightened of plum?  Try Sarra’s Iced Violet Transforming Lipstick.  According to Lauren, “It’s a very sheer purple based lip color that looks amazing on a wide range of skin tones. ”  It’s also good for you lips too filled with conditioners, antioxidants and vitamins. ($22)

Smoke gets in your eye:
Try the purple trend on your lids.  Sarra’s newest purple based shadow, Misty, is a grey-purple that can be used on its own or layered into a smokey look  ($20)

Rosy glow:
Compliment your plum inspired looks with a new mineral matte blush in “Rose Bud.”   It will give you a healthy, sexy glow without competing with your plum lip.
