with guest blogger – Linda Nguyen from Trendy on a Budget

Who says you have spend a lot of money to look fashionable?  The Closet Connection is chockfull of hidden gems and designers like Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, and DVF.  This Thursday, February 27th from 6pm-8pm you’re invited to an evening of shopping, sipping and saving.  On hand will be Southie resident and fashion blogger Linda Nguyen from Trendy on a Budget – http://trendyonabudget.com/about-me/

Nguyen loves fashion and she gets a thrill every time she finds a deal or in some cases a steal.  “The only way to find these deals is to do a lot of shopping, without necessarily buying anything. But when I do decide to buy, I follow a few simple rules: (1) refuse to pay full price, (2) shop at off-price stores (Marshall’s anyone?) and online boutiques (love my 11AM Rue La La breaks) and (3) find affordable brands. There are also so many great finds at your local consignment shops too!”

A little Q&A with Trendy on a Budget

Best way to be fashionable on a budget?
I am a big fan of off-price stores, such as Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. When I am in the market for designer goods, I will turn to Rue La La and the outlets (Wrentham is my fave). I always keep track of in-store and online sales, because I refuse to pay full price! In-store events are a great way to preview new merchandise and network, while enjoying special discounts. Although I do keep a keen eye on trends, I believe that being fashionable means wearing clothes that really showcases your personality and makes you feel good about yourself.

What are 3 spring trends that you are most excited about?
This is a tough one, as there are many spring trends I am looking forward to. But here are my top 3: (1) Wide-leg trousers: Move over skinny pants, the wide leg is coming back; (2) Geometric Prints: I am a sucker for print so I am completely on-board with this one; and (3) Voluminous tea length skirts: In prints, of course, these skirts are the ultimate feminine piece to own.

Make sure to stop by and do a little shopping with Closet Connection and Trendy on a Budget!  Who knows what treasures are hidden in the racks!
