Looks like Southie is getting greener everyday!

Congratulations Blue Tierra!  On Saturday, April 16th at the 5th Annual Green Awards, Jen Turner and Blue Tierra Chocolate Cafe (258 West Broadway) received a Green Award from Mayor Menino for the use of all recyclable or compostable to-go containers.  Blue Tierra also reuses old china cups and chemical-free cleaning agents.  So not only do they have amazing chocolate but they are amazingly good to the environment as well!

Three other Southie business received awards as well.  ADD Inc. architects for their sustainable design, and renovating its own offices and receiving LEED platinum certification.  Nutter McClennan and Fish (law firm) for their water conservation and waste reduction strategies and the Seaport Hotel for their renewable energy credits and their new compost program.

Way to go!

FYI 4 of the 11 green awards went to  South Boston businesses.  Just another reason why Southie is #1!
