We all know the scene: You’re at the bus stop and it’s pretty chilly outside, but your outerwear doesn’t quite stack up to your stylish outfit. That’s where Jess Garbarino & Brunswick Park come in.

After spending a few years working in the tech PR world, Jess and co-founder, Bostinno’s Alex Weaver, decided to go a different route. Brunswick Park offers a line of performance apparel that can go from work to play, and back again. (Or, from “alarm clock to last call” as they like to put it.) In the world of air-conditioned offices and not-so-trendy coverings, Brunswick Park uses high-quality materials, like weather-adapting merino wool, to bring style & warmth to the back of your office chair. All without the high-markups you’ll find with other popular retailers. Jess & Alex use Boston’s young professionals, and yes, even the swarms of chilly commuters at the Southie bus stops, as inspiration for their much-needed frocks.

Already, Brunswick Park has raised over $60,000 with a Kickstarter campaign that has provided a wealth of knowledge, valuable feedback from real-life entrepreneurs, and some awesome brand awareness for the startup.

We caught up with Jess, a Southie resident herself, to share some of her favorite neighborhood spots.
Favorite coffee house: “Java House! Everyone is so friendly there and they know my order by heart.”
Favorite place to grab a drink: “I’m obsessed with Loco. From the decor to the menu, South Boston needed something like this!”
Favorite restaurant: “I’m almost nervous to say this, since it’s such a hidden gem. But, Portobello is the best spot to grab a pizza and a glass of wine after a long day.”
