Eat:
Keep the Valentine’s love going! Bring your love bird to Chickadee this weekend! Reservations are highly recommended for this night. As always, parking is free!

Drink:
Let’s forget its winter and pretend it’s summer with some tiki drinks!   Fat Baby has a whole cocktail menu full of them from the classic Mai Tai to Sake Sangria! They even have sharable cocktails for four or more!

Celebrate:
My Diner has been back in business in Southie for a year! Celebrate this weekend! Our neighborhood felt the void after the closing of the poplar breakfast and lunch spot on A Street! My Diner has been thriving at their new location at the Distillery at 455 East First Street.  Deliveries are available from 7am-2pm.

Play:
Last call for the Loop! The interactive art installation called the Loop is made up of six illuminated, moving cylinders which play music and animations. Here’s how it goes – you take a seat in these giant circular structures, pump the handlebar, and watch a story unfold. This installation is free and open to the public daily from 7:00am-10:00pm. The Loop will be moving and glowing until February 17th in the One Seaport Courtyard.

Dance:
Get those dancing shoes ready! Revisit the good old days and enjoy Southie DJ legend Dru Errico as he spins the tunes at Seapoint ,  this Saturday night beginning at 8pm. Plan on dancing the night away to such local favorites like Happy Radio and Young Hearts Run Free! No cover charge. Plenty of parking!

Dance Again:
The Playwright has not one night but two nights of dancing this weekend.  Friday night from 9pm-1am it’s DJ Action Jackson and on Saturday from 9pm-1am DJ Bose! 

See:
Botticelli: Heroines + Heroes is now open at the Isabella Stewart Garnder Museum! Travel through time with eight of Botticelli’s most political works in conversation with modern day interpretations, drawing connections to issues we face today! For more information visit here! 

Do:
I’m on a boat! Dreaming of warmer weather? Go see The New England Boat show at the Boston Convention Center. Spend the day looking at boats, yachts, schooners, and nautical displays galore. If your wealthy enough to purchase one, good for you! If your like the rest of us, you can spend the day dreaming of the one you’ll buy when you hit the Power Ball. The show runs through February 17th. You can get buy one get one tickets here! 

Listen:
Come down to the Shamrock on February 16th from 8p-11p and support Jenn Menjin for Mayor of Southie! The very talented Celtic Law will be performing live Irish music!This event will have some GREAT raffles, you won’t want to miss these! As always, will also do a 50/50 and a $5 suggested donation at the door. All money goes to the South Boston St Patrick’s Day Parade and the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council!

Participate:
All MA Kings Dining & Entertainment locations are now hosting Bowl at Your Ex all week long starting on Valentine’s Day– purchase a bowling pin for $10, write a message to your ex or stick on a photo, and Kings will feed it into your bowling lane to throw bowling balls at them, just how you’ve always wanted. Make it a Dine Then Bowl through OpenTable to reserve a table for a delicious, scratch-cooked meal and drinks with your gals or pals – then when you’re done, you’ll jump to the top of the bowling list to say “thank u, next” and toss some bowling balls at your ex. How fun! 

Cheer:
Saturday, Feb. 16, is City of Boston Day at Boston University, as Boston residents will receive complimentary admission to all six ticketed Terrier events on campus that day, thanks to BU’s Office of Government & Community Affairs and the Department of Athletics. Doubleheaders will be held at Nickerson Field (men’s and women’s lacrosse), Case Gym (men’s and women’s basketball), and Agganis Arena (men’s and women’s ice hockey), all of which are located within a two-minute walk of each other. City residents simply need to register online at this link at www.GoTerriers.com/BostonDay and tickets will be waiting for them at the ticket will-call location at the venue for the game(s). Requests must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Friday, unless capacity is reached sooner.

Experience:
Celebrate the biggest Lunar New Year parade in New England, learn how to make dumplings and taste some tea in Chinatown! The fun takes place from 11am-3pm on Sunday. Learn more about it here!  #CaughtinChinatown

The South Boston Public Library is hosting a book sale this Saturday, February 16th from 10am-3pm. This sale will have a plenty hardcovers and paperbacks! Reading is a perfect way to chase away the winter blues!

FREE:
The ICA is offering free admission all day on Presidents’ Day! Timed tickets are required for gallery entry this weekend, Presidents’ Day, and February Vacation Week (Feb 16–21) through the run of William Forsythe the wildly popular interactive exhibit! Tickets are available first come, first serve, on site only. Tickets are limited and do sell out; we recommend arriving earlier in the day.  Visit here for more information! 

Register:
Put on your sneakers and sign up for a special TRAIN class at EverybodyFights Seaport and then head on over to Local 149 after for some post-workout refreshments and free apps and help raise some funds for Colin’s Joy Project! This event takes place on Saturday, March 2nd at 12:30pm-2:30pm. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here!
