Eat:
Purchase a ticket to Brunch Battle at District Hall! Participate in some good old fashioned eating and drinking as local brunch hot spots duke it out for the coveted title of Brunch Champion on Saturday, October 6th at 12noon! Grab mimosa, and 9 brunch hot spots will be sampling some of their best brunch items and you get to eat them and then vote for your favorite! Proceeds from this battle will benefit Community Servings, a local nonprofit that provides meals to individuals & families who are homebound with an acute life-threatening illness. So not only is it delicious but it’s good for our community too! Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here!

Drink:
Drink Pink! Fat Baby has created a speciality cocktail for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help support the Ellie Fund’s Do Good Campaign! Enjoy a Rosita Mamacita – made with tequila, apparel, luxardo, lemon and orange bitters.  Pairs well with Fat Baby sushi and dumplings! Lincoln is also “Doing Good” and offering Save Second Base made with Ketel One, Muddled Strawberries, Lemon, Cinnamon! Available seven days a week until October 31st!  Fat Baby and Lincoln will donate $1 for everyone purchased to the Ellie Fund!  So you might as well order 2 right?

Indulge:
Enjoy apple Cider Donuts at Capo! Every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm enjoy fresh baked donuts in coffee for dine in or takeout in the cafe!

Last Call:
Head to the Seaport District and enjoy for the last time the pop-up beer garden featuring Cisco Brewers award-winning craft beer and wine, paired with raw bar and tacos from Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar. Add it to your weekend to-do list!

Do:
Head to the Mini-Maker Faire at the Boston Children’s Museum! This gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do is the perfect event for families. Hunt & Gather! This week we celebrated National Consignment Day! Southie has some of the best consignment and vintage shops around including Boston Magazine Best of Winners Recollective, Dew Luxe, Covet and Go Garbaj! Make a plan to hunt and gather and find some designers hidden in the racks and shelves like Prada, Gucci, and Marc Jacobs! Here are some tips to help you navigate second hand shopping like a boss!

Pick:
How’d ya like them apples? It’s that time of year again. The kids are back in school. The air is just crisp enough to put on your favorite sweater and the urge to head out to the country and pick apples is overwhelming. So venture out of Southie this weekend and pick yourself a bushel and peck of farm fresh apples. Here are some spots that we like!

Shuck:
Guinness Oysterfest takes place on Saturday, October 6th from 12pm-9pm at the Lawn on D! Enjoy oyster shucking stations, a Guinness draft truck, lectures from a Guinness Brew Master, Get Your “IRISH” on bus (corned beef food truck), live Irish bands, Irish step dancing, games (including traditional Irish games), and more.This event is free to attend and open to all ages. Featured performers include The Silver Spears, Those Guys, and Southie’s own The Woods School of Irish Dance!

Shuck Again:
Bivalves and booze…two of our favorite things! The 1st annual Boston Oyster Bash is this Sunday, 2-6pm at the Innovation Design Center Building. Fueled by more than 4,000 oysters from the best oyster farms throughout New England, and beverages from spirit and wine producers from across the globe, it’s gonna be one helluva good time. Watch:
It’s a sports lover weekend! Thursday night at 8:20pm the Pats face the Colts. On Friday the Red Sox will play their arch rival the Yankess on Friday at 7:32p, Saturday at 8:15pm and Monday TBD. The Bruins face-off against the Senators on Monday at 1pm. Wondering where to watch? We’ve got some suggestions right here! 

Register:
Register for the DAV 5K on November 10th at Castle Island for the 3rd annual DAV 5K. The DAV 5K is an event that thanks and honors those who served and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day. You can register here!

Support:
Show your support! On Thursday, October 4th a special fundraising event will take place at the Lawn on D for the South Boston Leadership Initiative Boston to Belfast Kickoff from 6pm-10pm! Tickets are $30 and all proceeds will benefit the South Boston youth participating in the Boston to Belfast Youth Empowerment Program. There will be food, refreshments, live music and the Pats will be playing on all TV’s! You can purchase tickets here!
