Make your own sushi

Fat Baby Sushi is hosting a beginners sushi-making class where participants learn the basics of rice preparation, rolling techniques, knife work and more. This fun class takes place on Saturday, October 5th from 2pm-4pm.  Cost is $60 and can be purchased here!

Throwback to the 80’s

Join East Side Yoga and Fitness owner and instructor Andrea for a one hour step aerobics class featuring music from the 80’s! Dress the part and prepare for the fun! This fun and fabulous fitness event takes place on Sunday, October 6th from 10am-11am at Motivated Fitness. $20 Cash drop-in. Sign up online.

Hunt & Gather

This week we celebrated National Consignment Day! Southie has a Boston Magazine Best of Boston for consignment shop winner –  Covet. Make a plan to hunt and gather and find some designers hidden in the racks and shelves like Prada, Gucci, and Marc Jacobs!  Here are some tips to help you navigate second hand shopping like a boss!

National Taco Day

Like you need an excuse to eat tacos. But Friday is National Taco Day!  Southie’s favorite taqueria – Loco will feature two taco specials for you to enjoy! They’ll also be giving away a Taco Tuesday dinner for two giveaway.  While you’re there, don’t forget the chips and guac and one of their famous margaritas!

Thomas Park and Downeast Cider at the Lawn on D

Join Downeast Cider for a day of fun! Come compete in contests like cornhole, pumpkin carving, and bobbing for apples. They’ll be giving out lots of prizes! Grand prize winners will get to invite 5 of their friends to the brewery over in East Boston.  Southie’s favorite band, Thomas Park will be playing!  The fun takes place on Saturday, October 5th 1pm-8pm.  Thomas Park will play from 2pm-6pm.

Patriots vs. Redskins – Sunday at 1pm

A neighborhood favorite since 1979, this family-owned bar and grill is surrounded by flat screen TVs so you can watch your favorite game with ample sound and quality.  Slice into Seapoint’s famous steak tips, or opt for some potato skin appetizers and enjoy the friendly and casual atmosphere.  Don’t worry about parking, as there are plenty of spots to be filled right around the corner!  Seapoint also has a juke box and pool tables.  Here are some other suggestions of where to watch the game! 

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

The Broadway will be supporting Dana Farber Foundation with the sale of their limited edition pink t-shirt.  Stop by and pick them up.  Then wear it on Wednesday!
