Pair and Share for Colin’s Joy Project

Woodford Reserve will share $1 for every Woodford Reserve cocktail sold at participating restaurants in October to benefit Colin’s Joy Project! Participating restaurants have designed a delicious cocktail paired with a dish created by the chef of that restaurant. From October 1-31st, there are 14 participating restaurants in and around the Boston area doing the #pairandshare program!  You can see participating restaurants here!

Oktoberfest + Sunday Funday at Publico

Publico is getting in the fall spirit with a special Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday, October 13th from 3pm-6pm.  This fun event will take place on the patio and feature food and beer special (think pretzel bites, brat dogs, and pretzel crusted chicken tenders) plus the St. Publico Girls serving up beer! Stop by!

Boston Harborwalk Turns 35 – South Boston Walk

Join Boston Harbor Now for the second walk (in a series of four) that will trace the 9-mile waterfront of South Boston and the Seaport on Saturday, October 12th from 9am-12:30pm. You’ll walk in South Boston and the Seaport from Carson Beach to Moakley Bridge around Pleasure Bay and Castle Island, along Butler Memorial Park, around historic piers.   Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here! 

DOToberfest + puppies

Last week South Bay kicked off its Octoberfest-themed celebration, DOTOberfest. In addition to the craft beer and wine, food trucks and live music, DOToberfest will be hosting a pet adoption “pup-up” with Loyal Companion and four rescue organizations.

Take a Tour

Check out Fort Independence at Castle Island! The Castle Island Association (CIA) has been giving free guided tours of Fort Independence on Castle Island for over thirty years. This is the last weekend to enjoy a tour on Saturday, Sunday, and on Monday holidays noon till 3:30pm until next season. You can also enjoy a sunset tour on Thursday at 6pm. Treat yourself to a hot dog or ice cream at Sullivan’s while you’re there!

South Boston Farmers Market

The Farmers Market on West Broadway will be in full swing on Monday, October 14th from 12pm-4pm. Get some fall fruit and vegetables, and potted flowers, from Massachusetts based Freitas’ & Wenger’s Farms. Wenger’s will also carry their famous baked goods such as cookies and pies, bread, local jams, honey, flowers and hand crafted soaps.

National Pizza Month
