If you survive Black Friday and still have some shopping left in you, then head out to the streets of Southie on Saturday.   Saturday, November 30th is national “Small Business Saturday.” This campaign was designed by American Express to generate business to small independent merchants – and we know how important it is to shop locally!So get out and there and shop!  And spread the word too!  Encourage your friends and family to shop locally! Not only are you getting a jump on your Christmas shopping, you are helping our local economy!  Really, it’s a win/win situation.   The City of Boston is also offering free metered spots on Small Business Saturday too! Kickoff 4 Kids Women’s Flag Football Tournament

The 3rd Annual “Kickoff 4 Kids” Girls Flag Football Tourney is Saturday beginning at 9am. Teams will be playing on 3 Pop Warner fields throughout the day. Stop by to cheer on and support this worthy cause. This annual holiday event has been named in loving memory of our neighbor, young Colin McGrath. All proceeds and T-shirt sales will be distributed to local, youth non-profits, including “Colin’s Joy Project,”  to brighten children’s Christmas in Colin’s memory. There will also be raffles too! 

The Great American Songbook

The South Boston Arts Association is hosting a special afternoon of songs and music beginning at 1:30pm on Saturday, November 30th at the South Boston Public Library. Vocals by Dan McCole, Peter Golemme and Rev. Burns Stanfield on the piano.  Come hear songs of the greatest American composers.
